2006

inkjet prints, 71 x 91,5 cm each

Shot between 2004 and 2006 with a digital camera, these images propose a reflection that is everything but nostalgic, intentional and deeply refined, exempt of artifice as regards places, things and individuals. By exploring the formal and visual aspects of the current, popular digital photographic language (for example, the use of frontal composition, pixels, and colour distortion), the artist shows her interest towards a certain degree of abstraction. In the meantime, she references documentary photography, cinema, painting, sculpture and of course, autobiography. Beyond these multiple screens, it is above all the subject’s disarming (often ephemeral) presence that charms and seizes the spectator with interest.
